The Florida Alumni Scholarship - Helping Students Achieve Their Goals
With the support of alumni and friends, the Florida Alumni Scholarship is awarded annually to a William Paterson University student who has resided in Florida. This academic year the Scholarship was awarded to Carly Trent '20 for fall semester and Grant Sippel '22 for spring semester.
Carly graduated cum laude at the end of the fall 2020 semester with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. During her time on campus, Carly was active in Delta Phi Epsilon and worked several part time jobs to help pay for her education. She lived in Wellington, Florida from 2001 to 2012. In a message to her scholarship donors, Carly wrote : "I am honored and grateful to accept this award. This scholarship will aid my family and I, as we pay for my college education."
Grant is a junior and is majoring in music education. He has a strong grade point average that has repeatedly earned him a place on the Dean's List and also works part-time to help pay for his education. Grant lived in Lakeland, Florida from birth until the age of fifteen. In his scholarship application he shared "I am very hard working and I am trying to pay my way through college. A lot of my time goes towards practicing and ensemble rehearsals, so my work hours are limited because of a very packed schedule."
Both Carly and Grant extend their sincere appreciation to the donors who have made their time at William Paterson University possible. Thank you for considering a gift to benefit other Pioneers in the future!
