What's Inside the Pioneer Food Pantry?

April 06, 2021

A student's access to nutrient-rich foods often makes the difference between thriving in class, or not having the ability retain and process information, causing a student to struggle academically. The Pioneer Food Pantry was created so that WP students who don't have access to enough food and often skip meals, will have a safety net. A quick look inside the Pioneer Food Pantry reveals items like beans, cereal and peanut butter, as well as shelf-stable items like soups, canned vegetables and dried pasta. Also available is dishwashing soap and other household cleaners. The Head of the Pantry, Kian, always buys items in bulk or on sale so that every donated dollar stretches far. Thanks for considering a gift to this essential place on campus.

Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship - How Will the Student Be Selected?

March 25, 2021

David Jones and Yolany Gonell are chairing the committee which will choose the first Diversity and Inclusion Annual Scholarship recipient. They're looking forward to reviewing student applications and identifying a student who fulfills the following criteria:

  • Enrolled full-time at William Paterson University as a junior or senior undergraduate student;
  • Demonstrates financial need, not necessarily defined by the Federal Government;
  • Maintains a minimum GPA of 2.00;
  • Preference given to a minority student;
  • Preference given to a student who has demonstrated an interest in furthering the conversation of social justice, equity and diversity as shown by academic and extra-curricular activities.

Thank you for your consideration!

Lend Your Support

March 22, 2021

Thanks so much to the alumni and friends of WP who've lent their support to the campaign so far. Access to healthy food, text books, a laptop and the ability to cover the cost of tuition are all critical to the success of a student. Gifts of all sizes provide vital support so students can reach their goal of becoming a Willy P graduate.
